Frenzelit Type Novaflon® 500
Frenzelit Novaflon® 500 is a gasket sheet material made from 100% multidirectionally expanded PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene). It is specially designed for nearly universal chemical resistance and excellent sealing performance, particularly in demanding industrial environments.
Key Characteristics
- Composition: Made of 100% pure multidirectionally expanded PTFE (ePTFE), without fillers, ensuring nearly universal chemical resistance (pH range 0–14).
- High Pressure Resistance: Provides very high pressure resistance, from vacuum up to around 100 bar, depending on the application.
- Low Cold Flow: The expansion process creates a multidirectional fibrillated PTFE structure that gives excellent dimensional stability and significantly reduces the “cold flow” behavior typical of conventional PTFE.
- High Compressibility: Offers very high compressibility, enabling optimal adaptability to irregular flange surfaces or low bolt loads.
- Temperature Range: Suitable for a wide temperature range, typically from approx. –210°C to +260°C.
