Gasket Frenzelit Novamica 100 REEL is a mica-based gasket sheet supplied in reel form (roll), designed for high-temperature industrial sealing and insulation applications.
What It Is
- Material: Refined phlogopite mica, a form of mica with superior thermal stability.
- Form: Roll (reel) of mica film, typically 0.5 mm thick and supplied in lengths up to around 50 m, cuttable to width as needed.
- Family: Part of the novamica® high-temperature gasket material family (alongside novamica® THERMEX and novamica® 200).
Key Properties
- Very high temperature resistance: Suitable for continuous service up to about 1000 °C (1830 °F).
- Excellent sealing performance at high temperatures and good chemical resistance.
- Good electrical insulation and non-combustible characteristics.
- Flexible and easy to process: Can be cut, shaped, or layered for sealing applications.
Typical Uses
novamica® 100 REEL is especially suited for:
- Soft sealing layers or facings in semi-metallic gaskets
- Filler or insert material in spiral wound gaskets
- Applications involving narrow gaps or complex sealing profiles where flexibility and heat resistance are needed.
Application Notes
- Best chosen for high-temperature environments (often above ~400 °C) where conventional gasket materials (rubber, PTFE, graphite) are inadequate.
- Can be used in mechanical, process, energy, glass, or furnace industries among other high-heat installations.
