Novaflon 200
Novaflon 200 is a sheet gasket material made from modified PTFE filled with barium sulfate. Manufactured by the German company Frenzelit, it is specifically engineered to overcome the “cold flow” issues commonly found in conventional PTFE materials.
Key Characteristics
- Excellent Chemical Resistance: Offers outstanding resistance to nearly all media, especially strong alkalis, acids, solvents, and refrigerants across the full pH range (0–14).
- Optimized Mechanical Properties: A special manufacturing process provides extremely low creep behavior and high mechanical strength, even at elevated temperatures.
- Temperature and Pressure Range:
- Operating temperature: –210 °C to +260 °C
- Maximum pressure: up to 8.5 MPa (approximately 83 bar)
- Physiologically Inert: The material is physiologically harmless and contains no pigments, making it suitable for sensitive industries.
- Leakage Performance: Meets the strict requirements of TA-Luft (German Technical Instructions on Air Quality Control) for extremely low emission rates.
Application Areas
Thanks to its versatile properties, Novaflon 200 is ideal for universal use across various industrial sectors:
- Chemical and petrochemical industries (piping, steel flanges, etc.)
- Food and beverage processing
- Pharmaceutical production
- Pulp and paper industry
- Applications involving water, steam, oils, and greases
Available Forms
Novaflon 200 is supplied as sheet material in various thicknesses—
1.0 mm, 1.5 mm, 2.0 mm, 3.0 mm, etc.— and standard sheet sizes such as 1200 × 1200 mm or 1500 × 1500 mm.
