Frenzelit Novapress 850
(also known as Novaform 2300) is a high-performance non-asbestos fiber gasket material that combines the excellent adaptability of elastomers with the mechanical stability of conventional fiber gaskets.
It is designed for applications requiring superior tightness even at low surface pressures or on uneven flanges.
Material Composition
Novapress 850 is engineered from a smart blend of raw materials, consisting of:
- High-quality aramid fibers
- Special functional fillers
- Synthetic NBR (nitrile-butadiene rubber) binder with excellent oil resistance
Key Characteristics
Novapress 850 provides several unique performance advantages:
- Outstanding adaptability: Almost elastomer-like, enabling it to seal gaps on components that deform easily or have flexible surfaces.
- Mechanical stability: Maintains strength and integrity comparable to conventional fiber gaskets.
- Very low leakage rates: Ensures reliable sealing even with minimal bolt load.
- Chemical resistance: Superior resistance to oils, fuels, and coolants
Typical Applications
Due to its versatility and broad approvals, Novapress 850 is used in various applications, including:
- Cover and housing sealing for gearboxes, pumps, and transmissions
- Applications in the food industry (complies with FDA and EC 1935/2004 regulations)
- Drinking water supply systems and gas systems (approved by DVGW, W270, WRAS)
- Systems with uneven surface pressure or large bolt spacing
