JIC 3095 is a lubricated PTFE-impregnated carbonized fiber gland packing. It is used as a sealing material in pumps and valves for a variety of industrial applications involving mildly corrosive fluids.
Composition and construction
- Material: JIC 3095 is constructed from pan-carbonized fiber yarns.
- Braiding: The fiber yarns are braided into a square or lattice pattern.
- Impregnation: The packing is impregnated with a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) dispersion and a special lubricant.
- Self-lubricating: This construction results in a very light, self-lubricating packing.
Applications and compatibility
JIC 3095 is suitable for a wide range of fluids and industries, including:
- Acidic fluids
- Alkaline fluids
- Brine (salt water)
- Industrial wastewater
- Pumps
- Valves
