JIC
3074 Packing
is a type of
packing made from carbon fiber impregnated with polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE).
Its design involves braiding carbon fibers into a square cross-section and then
impregnating them with a PTFE dispersion. This product is also known as PTFE
impregnated carbon fiber packing.
Gland
packing JIC 3074
is engineered for applications involving high temperatures, high pressures, and
aggressive chemical environments.
Characteristics
and Advantages
- High temperature resistance: Can operate at extreme
temperatures up to 500°C.
- Excellent chemical resistance: Highly resistant to most
chemicals, including acids, alkalis, and hydrocarbons.
- Superior thermal conductivity: Effectively dissipates heat,
reducing wear on the shaft.
- Low friction: The self-lubricating properties of
PTFE minimize friction, extending the service life of both the packing and
the shaft.
- High strength: Carbon fiber provides exceptional
strength and dimensional stability under extreme conditions.
Typical
Applications
JIC 3074
gland packing is ideal for heavy-duty industries that demand reliability and
long service life, such as:
- Pumps
- Valves
- Mixers
- Chemical processing equipment
- Power plants
JIC
3074 Variants
A variant
called JIC 3074 CR is also available, featuring a special heat-resistant
lubricant to enhance performance. This version is often used in combination
with other packing types, such as JIC-4101, for applications requiring a
balance of heat resistance, chemical stability, and low friction.
