TEADIT Style 3110 is a braided graphite sealing tape made from pure expanded, flexible graphite. It is produced by braiding the graphite into a tube and then folding it flat to form a tape-like gasket or packing material.
Key Properties
- Material: Expanded, flexible graphite
- Form: Braided tube flattened into tape
- Available Sizes: Typical cross-sections like 15×4 mm, 25×3 mm, 20×4 mm, 30×4.5 mm, 40×5 mm, 25×6 mm, 50×6 mm
- Optional Versions: With or without adhesive backing; also 3110/I version with Inconel (metal) reinforcement for extra strength/performance.
Temperature & Pressure
- Temperature range: approx. -240 °C up to +450 °C
- Can withstand steam up to ~650 °C and inert gases up to ~1000 °C.
- Static pressure: up to ~300 bar.
- pH range: 0–14.
Typical Uses
This material is mainly used as a static seal (not for rotary motion) including:
- Flanged joints
- Covers, lids, hatches
- Reactors, autoclaves, heaters
- Metallic and non-metallic connections in industrial systems
It forms a tight, conformable seal even on irregular surfaces thanks to the flexible graphite construction.
Advantages
Excellent chemical resistance (wide range of media)
High temperature stability
Easy to shape and install
Can conform to complex flange shapes
Inconel-reinforced option for higher mechanical performance
