Gasket Frenzelit Novaphit 400 Sheet
Frenzelit Novaphit® 400 is a high-performance graphite gasket sheet made from pure expanded graphite and reinforced with a flat, acid-resistant stainless steel insert. It is designed for industrial sealing applications, especially for flanges requiring excellent thermal, chemical, and mechanical resistance.
Material Description
Novaphit 400 is a flexible gasket material based on expanded graphite, reinforced with a corrosion-resistant stainless steel sheet (acid-resistant stainless steel 1.4404 / AISI 316L). This construction provides outstanding durability under demanding operating conditions.
Key Features
✔ Wide temperature range: approx. −200 °C up to 500–550 °C, depending on operating conditions
✔ Easy to process: can be cut using simple tools such as standard industrial knives
✔ Resistant to fluctuating thermal and mechanical loads (insensitive to varying loads)
✔ Excellent adaptability to flange surface irregularities, ensuring reliable sealing
✔ Reduced risk of peeling or delamination during cutting compared to unreinforced graphite gaskets
Available Sizes & Thicknesses
Novaphit 400 is typically supplied in large sheets (e.g. 1000 × 1000 mm) with various thickness options, including:
- 0.5 mm
- 0.75 mm
- 1.0 mm
- 1.5 mm
- 2.0 mm
- 3.0 mm
Typical Applications
This material is ideal for manufacturing flange gaskets used in:
- Pumps, compressors, valves, and industrial fittings
- High-pressure and high-temperature piping connections
- OEM applications and general industrial processes
Advantages over Standard Graphite Gaskets
📍 The embedded flat metal reinforcement improves safety during cutting (no sharp metal edges exposed) and reduces the risk of contact corrosion on flanges.
📍 Easy to cut into complex or very thin gasket designs, making it suitable for precision sealing applications.
